Han Hong-gu, a professor of SungKongHoe University, tells an interested group about the history of the former Korea Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA) building in front of a tunnel located in Seoul's Namsan Mountain, through which one can reach to the former KCIA building, Aug 28.

The people in the group are members of the “People's Association for Correcting History” which is trying to put an end to the Seoul municipal government's plan to destroy the building.

The Seoul government will destroy all of the historic buildings located in Namsan Mountain by 2015 and plans to renovate the area.

Professor Han and other members, however, said, “A shameful history also has historical significance. We should maintain buildings that were used to torture and detain students and citizens who were involved in the democratic movement.”

The former KCIA building is notorious and represents dictatorship and Park Chung-hee era.

The association will launch a “history trust” campaign to save the building through donations.
