The five fires that broke out in solar and wind power stations throughout South Korean between August and October 2019 were caused by “battery issues,” an investigative body has reported. The investigative body comprised experts from universities, research institutes, the National Assembly, and firefighting departments. Samsung SDI and LG Chemical, the batteries’ manufacturers, have immediately protested the investigation’s results, claiming they aren’t conclusive.
