Following North Korea’s demolition of the Inter-Korean Joint Liaison Office in Kaesong, approval ratings for South Korean President Moon Jae-in, a strong advocate of inter-Korean dialogue and reconciliation, have plummeted. According to the polling agency Realmeter, Moon’s approval ratings stood at 53.6% as of June 17, a decrease of 4.6 percentage points from the previous week. This was Moon’s lowest approval rating in nearly three months.
