Premium highway buses will be introduced to 14 routes throughout South Korean starting March. The premium buses, with only 21 seats, will be more spacious than previous buses with reclining seats. The buses have been operated under a trial basis in 25 routes since 2016. After two years of the trial, the number of premium buses was increased for seven routes. Surveys conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) of 3,324 passengers found that 88% of them were satisfied with the new premium buses and support their permanent presence on standard bus routes.
