The South Korean food-delivery app Baedal Minjok has developed a robot, named “Dilly,” that serves people food and coffee. On Nov. 25, Baedal Minjok started tests for a robot that delivers food and beverages to customers at Konkuk University in Seoul. As Dilly travels the 500m from the café to the campus’ engineering department, customers can check Dilly’s location on their mobile devices on real time. Dilly can make the journey in around 10 minutes, roughly the time it would take a human to walk the same distance. Factoring in times for preparing food and beverages, Dilly can make around one to two deliveries in one hour. Baedal Minjok plans to operate five Dilly robots on the Konkuk campus on a trial basis until Dec. 20. (Park Jong-shik, staff photographer)
