Incheon City became the first in Korea to offer “smart donation boxes” in which citizens can use credit, debit, or transportation cards to make contributions to charity. The machines are run by the social enterprise, “AEDforlife,” which has a portfolio of charities to which it contributes funds. The “smart donation boxes” reflect society’s shift away from cash to using cards to pay for most purchases. In the photo, a woman demonstrates how to use the new machines at the first floor of the Incheon City Hall on Feb. 1.
